Tell us a bit about what you do at POD Print.
I’m a member of our pre-press team, which means I both prepare provided files for printing and create from-scratch designs.
How long have you been with POD Print?
Since 2013.
What memorable project(s) have you been involved with?
Designing the wrap for our delivery vehicles was a fun new three-dimensional challenge for me. I also did the layout on a coffee-table book about antique dolls that was quite interesting! And projects for charity events like the Wichita Family Crisis Center’s annual “Bootlegger’s Ball” are always very rewarding.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I have a few too many hobbies, but I love writing and baking most of all. I’m also a tea fanatic and enjoy making my own tea blends.
What is your favorite thing about your job?
Helping people bring their ideas and concepts to life.
What’s the one most important piece of printing
advice you have to share?
Font choice is everything—it can make or break a design. Choose your typeface carefully. (Get some tips about logo fonts and resources on free typefaces from previous blog articles!)
What motivates you to get up and go to work?
The opportunity to stretch both my creative muscles and problem-solving abilities all in one job.
What’s a fun memory here at POD Print?
One year for Halloween, I dressed as the Mad Hatter and threw a tea party in the pre-press room, complete with tea, cocoa, cookies, and other treats. I even had a soundtrack of various silly music playing in the background. Other employees stopped by throughout the day to grab snacks—it was a great time!
When you have 30 minutes of free time, how do you pass the time?
Usually a quick video game session.
What chore do you absolutely hate doing?
Cleaning the litter box, for pretty obvious reasons!
If you could meet anyone, alive or dead, who would it be?
I’d love to meet great past writers. Shakespeare seems like he’d be a lot of fun.
What would you say is your best quality?
My enthusiasm and passion for the things I care about.
What would you most like to tell yourself at age 13?
You don’t need to try to be someone you’re not. Someday you’ll learn to embrace the weird quirks that make you unique.

I asked a successful author who his favorite printer was. When he said POD Print without hesitation, that was enough endorsement. I quickly learned that POD Print is enthusiastic, friendly, competent, and encouraging. Now when people ask me where I got my books printed, I don’t hesitate to tell them POD Print as well.
